This afternoon I built a survey to check it, and the survey couldn’t see the case that prompted it — because I had sorted by downloads, and new models haven’t been adopted yet (see the correction in the text: my original explanation of the mechanism was wrong). The answer is that licences widen about twice as often as they narrow. The interesting part is the three wrong answers I got first.
